Higher Education Qualifications

at Salford City College Group

Salford City College Group is proud to offer a range of Higher Education qualifications to empower you with the next steps in your educational endeavours. Depending on the industry you wish to break into, our qualifications and courses vary.

Level 4 Courses

(Higher National Certificates)

Level 4 qualifications offered include our Higher National Certificate (HNC) courses, such as our HNC in Construction and Surveying. A HNC is equivalent to the first year of a university degree, or a Certificate of Higher Education. Achieving these qualifications usually entails one year of full-time study, or two years of part-time study.

Level 5 Courses

(Higher National Diplomas, Foundation Degrees & Certificate in Education)

Our Higher Education courses include two Level 5 qualifications, the Certificate in Education and our Foundation Degree (FdA) in Media Make-up. The Certificate of Education is a 14+ teaching qualification designed to help you grow and develop your skills and knowledge of teaching. A Foundation Degree is the equivalent of two-thirds of a Bachelor’s Degree or a Higher National Diploma.

Level 6 Courses & Above

(Bachelor's Degree & Post Graduate Certificate in Education)

Level 6 qualifications include a full degree with honours as well as a Top-Up qualifications. Top-Ups are equivalent to the final academic year of an undergraduate degree program, often acting as the progression from a Foundation level qualification. At Salford City College Group, we offer a BA(Hons) Top-Up in Media Make-up and Media Production.

Level 7 qualifications are Post-Graduate qualifications, such as the Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
